Prof. Peter D. Johnson - IAS Fellow - A Short Series of Lectures

Professor Peter Johnson is Chair of the Condensed Matter & Materials Physics Department at Brookhaven National Laboratory, New York, USA. He is recognized internationally as a leader in surface science and high resolution photoelectron spectroscopy focusing on materials in which electrons are confined to two dimensions. He has interests in catalytic reactions at metal surfaces, magnetic multilayers and high-Tc superconductors. In 2011 he was awarded the Oliver E. Buckley Prize in Condensed Matter by the American Institute of Physics

During his week long stay in Warwick as an IAS Visiting Fellow Professor Johnson will be delivering the following lectures:

High resolution Photoemission and High Tc Superconductivity

3.00 pm on Tuesday 27th September in P521 (Physics)

The development of Inverse Photoemission and our Knowledge of Surface Electronic Structure

4.30 pm on Wednesday 28th September in PLT

Superconductivity and the Energy Problem

3.00 pm on Thursday 29th September in P520 (Physics)
