WCAS/CRiSM Seminar - Dr William Astle - 4.00pm in A1.01 on 27th May 2010

Dr William Astle is currently a Research Associate in the Biostatistics Group, St Mary's Hospital at Imperial College London and will be visiting Warwick to give a talk entitled 'A Bayesian model of NMR spectra for the deconvolution and quantification of metabolites in complex biological mixtures' on Thursday 27th May at 4.00pm in room A1.01 (Statistics).

WCAS Seminar Programme - Duccio Medini, 4.00 pm in MOAC on 13th May 2010

Duccio Medini will be visiting the Centre on Thursday 13th May at 4.00 pm in MOAC to give a seminar focussing on the experimental techniques they use and the quantitative methods used in data analysis.

Title:  Quantitative Methods for Vaccine Research: Pan-genomes, homology networks and predictors of immunity

Duccio Medini is currently  Head of the Genomics II Lab at Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics

Having  completed his first degree in Theoretical Physics at Università degli Studi di Perugia, Duccio began his PhD in Biophysics there, moving to Northeastern University to complete it in 2001.  Since then Duccio has worked as a Research Scientist at Chiron Vaccines, then Senior Scientist at Novartis, to his current role as Head of the Genomics II Lab.

 Dr Jackie Moseley  Dr Jackie Mosely, a former PhD Student with Professor Peter Derrick here at Warwick, will be giving a lecture on  'New tricks for getting more information from tandem mass spectrometry of small molecules' on Friday 5th March at 2.00 pm in room B2.04/5 (Science Concourse).
