Call for Abstracts:
We are pleased to announce the call for abstracts for the upcoming conference on the dispatch of specialised units, critical care teams, and complex decision-making in emergency services. The conference is scheduled for 10thApril in DoubleTree by Hilton Bristol City Centre and is organised by the University of Bristol, the University of Warwick, Welsh Ambulance Services University NHS Trust and Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service.
The event aims to convene senior researchers, policymakers, and practitioners with significant expertise in issues, models, and policies related to the deployment of specialised teams in critical contexts, including medical critical care, military operations, fire, police, and specialist rescue services.
Conference Objectives:
- To explore cutting-edge research in the dispatch and management of critical care teams.
- To discuss existing and emerging computational/AI models used in dispatch processes.
- To examine complex decision-making processes in high-stakes environments.
- To foster interdisciplinary collaboration among experts in critical care, military, policy, and emergency services.
Submission Guidelines:
We invite the submission of abstracts presenting original research, case studies, policy models, or theoretical discussions relevant to the conference themes. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Innovations in dispatch protocols for specialised units and critical care teams.
- Decision-making frameworks in high-pressure scenarios.
- Comparative analyses of dispatch strategies across different sectors.
- Impact assessments of policy decisions on emergency response effectiveness.
Abstract Requirements:
- Language: All abstracts must be submitted in English.
- Title: Titles should be concise and indicative of the abstract content.
- Word Limit: Abstracts must not exceed 350 words.
- Structure: Abstracts are suggested to follow this structure: Introduction, Objectives, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
- Format: Text only; graphics, images, or tables are not permitted.
- Originality: Submissions must present original work not previously published or presented at other conferences.
Submission Process:
- Deadline: Abstract submissions are due by 2ndMarch.
- Submission Portal: Please submit your abstracts via email to lyba.nadeem@warwick.ac.uk with the subject Conference submission 2025
- Review: Each abstract will undergo a blind peer-review process conducted by a panel of experts.
- Notification: Authors will be informed of acceptance decisions by 15thMarch 2025
Conference Participation:
To ensure a focused and confidential environment conducive to the exchange of cutting-edge research and policy work, attendance is restricted to individuals whose abstracts have been accepted for presentation. This approach is intended to promote in-depth discussions and collaborations among experts in the field.
