CEDAR News and Events
Congratulations
Congratulations to Dr. Samantha Flynn, Research Fellow in CEDAR, who graduated last week with a PhD from the University of Chester. Samantha's PhD was focused on the psychosocial needs of adults with intellectual disabilities who had cancer as well as the experiences and training needs of healthcare staff who were caring for this population.
Congratulations
Congratulations to Ben Williams, who was an expert trainer on the Who’s Challenging Who? training course, on being a Dimensions Learning Disability and Autism Leader 2018 in the advocacy, policy and the media category. Ben’s story was one of 60 winners chosen to be on the Leaders’ List out of almost 600 nominees.
CEDAR's first PhD
Although CEDAR staff have supervised PhDs in other departments for many years, the Education and Psychology PhD programme in CEDAR was established only in 2014. The first student to graduate from the programme is Jon Painter from Sheffield Hallam University who completed a PhD by published works.
