Teaching & Researching

My professional and academic path always complemented each other, conducting to research trails based on lived experiences, and to questions that emerged from them. This complementarity was mainly present from 2001, when I became a teacher of future early childhood educators and teachers in the field of Special Education and Early Childhood Intervention.

In recent years (2008-2012), I developed, implemented and coordinated a Master in Early Childhood Intervention that particularly motivated me to study pre-service and in-service training in this area, leading to several national and international peer-reviewed academic conference papers.

At present, I am doing a Post-Doctoral research concerning training practices in Early Childhood Intervention in the United Kingdom and Portugal, aiming to describe, analyze and articulate contents and training processes, with the ultimate purpose of establishing practical and research based recommendations for professional training in this field.
