CAGE researcher wins the EEA Young Economist Award 2020
Friday 4 Sep 2020Congratulations to Arianna Orgnaghi, CAGE Research Associate, for winning the EEA Young Economist Award 2020 for the paper she co-authored with Nick Mastrorocco, Trinity College Dublin, on "Who watches the watchmen? Local news and police behaviour in the United States".
The paper studies how media content influences local institutions by looking at how a negative shock to local crime-related news, induced by the acquisition of local TV stations by the Sinclair Broadcast Group, affects U.S. municipal police departments.
