Dave Coplin - Founder of the Envisioners (Chair)

For over 25 years, Dave Coplin has worked with or for the world's largest technology companies, most recently as Microsoft's 'Chief Envisioning Officer', providing organisations and governments around the world with strategic advice and guidance that enables them to deliver lasting growth and market relevance through adoption of transformational technology.

Dave has worked with organisations in every sector and almost every industry. From Facebook, Google and Microsoft through to Barclays, Ernst Young, PHD Media and Vodafone as will as leading public sector and academic institutions such as the Crown Prosecution Service, UK Parliament, Cambridge and Oxford Universities. Dave is engaged at the highest levels to help inspire and drive technology enabled transformation.

Professor Carl-Benedikt Frey

Professor Carl-Benedikt Frey is a distinguished expert in the field of AI and its implications for the workforce. He is the Dieter Schwarz Associate Professor of AI & Work at the Oxford Internet Institute and is a Fellow at Mansfield College, University of Oxford. He also directs the Future of Work Programme and serves as an Oxford Martin Citi Fellow at the Oxford Martin School.

Professor Frey founded the Future of Work Programme at Oxford Martin School in 2013. During the same year his influential co-authored study, "The Future of Employment: How Susceptible Are Jobs to Computerization," has garnered over 12,000 citations, influencing key institutions like President Barack Obama's Council of Economic Advisors, the Bank of England, and the World Bank. Beyond academia, Professor Frey advises international organizations, think tanks, governments, and Fortune 500 companies, solidifying his role as a pivotal figure in AI and work dynamics.

Dr Abigail Gilbert

Dr Gilbert is a public policy researcher who has specialized in AI governance within the workplace. Her formal education spans both natural and social sciences, equipping her with the ability to bridge the gap between theory and practice, as well as academia and policy.

In 2019 Dr Gilbert became a part of the Institute for the Future of Work (IFOW), where she initially served as the Head of Research. In her current role as Director of Praxis, her primary focus is on ensuring that IFOW's research programmes not only inform but also effectively achieve strategic impact objectives. Prior to her tenure at IFOW, Dr Gilbert worked as a Connected Communities Programme Coordinator at the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, overseeing a programme dedicated to diminishing negative attitudes towards migrants and advocating for migrant rights during the Brexit era.

Gunisha Aggarwal (BSc Economics, Year 2)

Gunisha is a second-year Economics student from India at the University of Warwick. Having interned at PwC, Niti Aayog (Government of India's apex public policy think tank), Los Angeles Behavioural Economics Laboratory and the Institute of Economic Affairs, UK, Gunisha is incredibly interested in the ethics of AI, public policy and behavioural economics - " I believe it's pertinent to discuss, debate and understand the implications of AI for the future of work to prevent entrenching existing biases into technology and ensure that it is used as a tool for positive social change."

Joseph Brennan (BSc Economics, Year 2)

Joseph is a second-year economics student and current Talks Coordinator of the Warwick Economics Summit. He is interested in social mobility and the impact AI will have in widening inequalities across the economy. He enjoys analysing policies designed to address barriers to opportunity and believes the AI revolution should promote an equitable future for all labour market participants. Joseph has previously interned at the Institute of Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Justice.
