How do I use this calendar?

Introduction to Economics

Do you want to know more about what economics really is and the possible future career opportunities available to you? Register now for our free interactive event organised in partnership with Discover Economics and the Warwick Economics Summit for 16-18 year olds, teachers and parents.

What's in store?

The Introduction to Economics event provides an exciting opportunity to discover more about economics as a subject, experience an interactive taster lecture delivered by the Department of Economics, University of Warwick and hear from current undergraduate students about what it's like to study economics at university. There will also be a chance to hear from economists about the wide-ranging work they do and the possible career opportunities open to economics graduates.

Students will also be able to gain useful advice and guidance on how to apply for university, including how to draft a personal statement as well as having the opportunity to ask questions to an Admissions Tutor.

This event will be opened by Dr Lory Barile, Associate Professor and Widening Participation Coordinator.

Taster Activity

In this interactive session delivered by Dr Amrita Kulka (Assistant Professor, Department of Economics) and Sam Mcloughlin (Discover Economics Campaign Manager), you will learn more about what economics really is and will have the chance to ask your own questions in a live Q&A.

Choosing a University Course and How to Apply

You will hear from Warwick's Student Recruitment, Outreach and Admissions Services Team who will provide advice and guidance on how to make a competitive application to our programmes.

In Conversation with Jennifer Drake

In this interactive panel discussion chaired by current Economics Students (and members of the Warwick Economics Summit), you will be able to ask questions to Jennifer Drake (BSc Economics, 2015) about her experiences of studying economics, and Jennifer's journey to her current role as Risk Analyst at Faire, London.
