Our two-day conference organised by Warwick Economics PhD students will bring together international PhD research from across the globe. The 10th annual Warwick Economics PhD Conference will be held in person at the premises of the University, and it will be live-streamed to enable remote participation.

This year’s theme is ‘Revisiting the Meaning of Sovereignty’ and will be held as a hybrid conference at Kennedy Wong Moot Court in the Wigoder Law Building, University of Kent, allowing presenters and attendees to participate both online and in person. The conference aims to critically explore the concept of sovereignty from an interdisciplinary perspective by revisiting the meaning of sovereignty as a result of the changing global legal, political and social contexts. To apply to present a paper: Submit a 250 word abstract and short biography to: lawgradconference@kent.ac.uk by Monday, 9 May 2022.

This workshop will introduce students to KPMG and explain how to stand out and create a successful application. We will run through the application process including online assessment tips, as well as provide advice and guidance regarding our assessment days to ensure that students feel confident and prepared when applying to KPMG.

It is impossible to talk about the future of access to justice without digital technology, which has profound implications for what it means to practice law. This event will look beyond problems of digital exclusion to examine the ways in which digital technology changes the very foundations of law, the role of the community lawyer, and the experience of engaging with the legal system.

This Bootcamp is aimed at first-year law students, current or incoming, looking to pursue a career as a solicitor. If you are a second/third-year law student or non-law student, please register for our separate Bootcamp events.

This event will give you an overview of everything you need to know in order to be successful in pursuing a career as a barrister. With handy jargon busters, and a whistle-stop tour of how chambers works, you will be well equipped to start applying for the BPC and mini-pupillage's. This will be followed by a panel of our tutors, students and practising barristers who can answer all your questions about studying and practice.
