The final year board of examiners in Economics has awarded prizes to three PPE students for their dissertations in EC331 Research in Applied Economics. Congratulations go to Matthew Bailey, Stefano Piano, and Ross Taylor.

Awards for Warwick PPE Students

Of five Warwick students who will receive Outstanding Student Contribution Awards at the degree ceremonies in July, two are from the PPE programme: Muhammad Ali Chaudhry, nominated for his work as leader and founder of educational charity Renaissance Pakistan, and Jure Jeric, nominated for his role as Editor of Reinvention: an international journal of undergraduate research. Prize for Warwick PPE student Jay Shah

Our congratulations to Jay Shah, a second-year undergraduate in the Philosophy, Politics and Economics programme. Jay has won second place in a contest for essays about the future of Africa. The competition for undergraduates and young professionals was sponsored by the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, in conjunction with a conference, "Africa's Turn?"

Jay's essay, Progress and Growth in Africa, presented Africa as the world's latest investment frontier. Jay, who lived in Kenya prior to starting his degree at the University of Warwick, said that the contest offered him a way to express opinions on issues for which he has a passion.

PPE Pathways Meeting Wednesday 30th April 2014

First year students are invited to a meeting to consider the PPE pathways and options for your second and third years. The meeting will be held on Wednesday 30th April 2014 at 2.00 pm in Woods-Scawen. We will explain the different pathways and what they imply for your choice of modules, and answer any questions. The pathway meeting is a monitoring point so attendance is compulsory.
