Advanced Theory in Criminology and Social Justice

This course aims at developing key theoretical perspectives that have been used throughout history to explain patterns of crime, deviance and social control in society. The module will critically develop knowledge and understanding of the organising categories and central claims of a range of modern criminological perspectives of crime, social justice and social control. You will be encouraged to take a critical approach to these perspectives and to situate them within their wider social and political contexts.
