Cultural Activity

Your course will challenge you academically but we also want to ensure that you can experience some of the outstanding cultural highlights that surround our beautiful campus.

Evening social and networking events

The programme includes a number of evening events at various venues across our large campus:

  • A welcome barbecue on the first evening
  • A formal welcome dinner
  • A fun curry, quiz and disco night
  • A farewell dinner on the last evening

Iconic Cultural Visits

In addition we will take some time off from studying to take you to three of the most iconic places to visit in the UK.

In the first week, we will visit Stratford Upon Avon, just a short journey from the Warwick campus, Stratford is the birthplace of William Shakespeare and home to the world renowned Royal Shakespeare Theatre (RSC). It is also a beautiful place to visit. Our trip will include travel there and back. You will have free time to do some shopping, visit a theatre or maybe take a boat trip on the River Avon which runs through the famous town.

On the Saturday, we will pay a visit to the amazing capital city of London. A coach to and from London will be provided and you will have the whole day free to explore. From Buckingham Palace and the Tower of London to Big Ben and the London Eye, there will be plenty of iconic cultural sights to explore. Many students decide to make a weekend of this and travel to London on the Friday afternoon and return on Sunday at their expense.

In the second week, we will visit the dreaming spires of Oxford, home to the world famous University of Oxford, stunning architecture and the Ashmolean museum. Don’t forget to visit the various locations used in the Harry Potter films and have a punt on the River Cherwell.

Again, the trip will include coach travel to and from Oxford. The afternoon will be free for you to explore. Some students prefer to take the short journey to Bicester Village to undertake some designer shopping.

These trips are optional and students will be asked to confirm if they would like to attend nearer the time.
