Communicating within the Department

Email

The main form of communication within the department is email and all students must register with the University Email system before beginning their course (this can be done online during the online enrollment process).

University communications will only be sent to your university email address. The following University systems/websites will also send automatic messages to your university email address:

  • Warwick.ac.uk - including any online form confirmations or newsletters
  • Tabula - including any notifications about upcoming deadlines or monitoring points

  • Moodle - including any notifications about new content available to view
  • Office 365 - including any of the Office 365 services available to you as a student at Warwick (e.g. new quizzes available to you or items stored on your OneDrive)

You should check your emails at least once a day during term-time.

Want to view your emails on your phone? See the University's IT Services Website for full details.

Advice and Feedback Hours

All academic staff within the department are expected to make time available to you for informal drop-in sessions, in the form of 'Advice and Feedback Hours'. You should view the department's 'People' pages for details of these hours and which location staff will be available in. You can also find information about Advice and Feedback Hours on your module Moodle Pages.

Professional Services Office

If you have general questions about the University or your course, you may wish to speak to one of your tutors or other members of staff within the department.

The department's Professional Services team is located on the ground floor of the CEDAR Building (WE0.53). Here you will find the Departmental Secretary, in addition to staff involved in admissions, timetabling and student records for the department. The team are able to support you with most general questions and can be contacted via ifpreception at warwick dot ac dot uk

Start.Warwick

You can check and update your personal details at any time via Start.Warwick - the University's online Student Records portal.
