University Pathway Alliance
An alliance of University-led international pathway providers
What is the UPA?
The University Pathway Alliance (UPA) is a group which represents a collection of UK universities that deliver in-house international pathway programmes such as foundation-year courses, pre-masters programmes or other programmes supporting students' transition to a UK degree setting.
Aims
The University Pathway Alliance is an organisation comprised of representatives from UK universities which maintain and provide academic delivery of at least one international pathway programme, without the use of a commercial delivery partner.
The UPA aims to advance the interests of university-run programmes through collaboration, events, and activities. This constitution sets forth the governing principles and structure of the UPA.
Membership
UPA members may have a diverse portfolio of courses within the pathway sector. As well as pathway programmes for different levels of study (e.g, International Foundation Programme, Pre-masters programmes), they may also run English for Academic Purposes (EAP) programmes such as pre-sessional courses, or other short preparatory courses supporting inbound international students. It is a condition of alliance membership that institutions run at least one international pathway programme themselves.
