IMA & OR Society Conference
A number of faculty members of the ORMS Group have been invited to contribute to the scientific programme of the conference. Professor Bo Chen has put together four invited sessions, with two sessions on “Innovating Mathematics for New Industrial Challenges” and the other two on “Theoretical Challenges in OR Research”. There are a total of 15 invited speakers from University of Warwick, Cranfield University, London School of Economics and Political Science, University of Central Lancashire, ETH Zurich, and CWI Amsterdam.
Dr Arne Strauss organises an invited session titled “Last Mile Deliveries” with speakers from RWTH Aachen (Germany), Erasmus University Rotterdam (Netherlands), Bundeswehr University Munich (Germany) and the University of Essex (UK).
Dr Vinh Doan will give an invited talk, “Low-rank Matrix Recovery with Ky Fan 2-k-Norm” in a session titled “Conic Optimization and Applications in OR”. Dr Vladimir Deineko is considering an invitation to give a talk in an invited session.

APMOD Conference at WBS
International Conference on Applied Mathematical Optimization and Modelling, 9-11 April 2014, WBS
APMOD 2014 is the eleventh conference in the series of successful events covering mathematical optimization and modeling, theory as well as applications. This year, it is organised by a team of ORMS group members including Nalan Gulpinar (chair), Vinh Doan and Arne Strauss.

3rd Student Conference on Operational Research
The 3rd edition of the previous Student Conferences on Operational Research, SCOR 2012, which will be held at the University of Nottingham, UK from:
Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd April 2012
PhD students from all European Universities studying Operational Research, Management Science or a related field are kindly invited to submit an abstract for presentation at the conference. The purpose of SCOR 2012 is to provide a friendly environment for doctoral candidates to develop their presentation skills, to receive constructive feedback on their work and to meet other students with similar interests.
