International Management (Year 2)

The SSLC allows students to have a say on their course, their department and their resources and it is a great way to input into your university.

For each course there are two representatives per cohort.

After reading the manifestos of each candidate, can you please select TWO of the candidates below who you wish to become the representative for your course and cohort.

Alexandra Perrot

Hello, Im Alexandra, a second-year International Management student.  I would like to nominate myself to represent my course.

Im a caring and dedicated person; I would then listen to my peers to find more about their interests, their issues and their suggestions. I will not hesitate to circulate surveys or petitions on the campus or/and on social networks in order to better understand their needs. I am an extremely motivated person, determined to produce improvement to my course. I consider myself as creative; I will give my best to help introducing new ideas, proposing changes in order to improve the learning experience and more generally to make our four-year stay at Warwick unique and memorable.

I truly believe to be suitable for this role. I am a well-organized student ready to give my best to satisfy my course mates expectations and simply make a huge difference to my course whatever time it takes. I am not afraid of having responsibilities in order to fulfil my peers needs and I consider myself as a challenging person: I would be glad to explore solutions, and to act accordingly to improve the partnership between staff and students.

Moreover, I have gained experience since I have been a class representative in high school. I have tried to improve communication and understanding between teachers and students.

Finally, becoming directly involved in the university life will enable me to meet other students, share new ideas, discover other cultures and will make my course studies even more concrete. I am sure I will enjoy working in a team with other course representatives.

Josie Parr

Hello, my name is Josie and Im currently in my second year of International Management. I am English, however have moved around for the majority of my life, having lived in France and Switzerland for the past 11 years. I attended an international school completing MYP and IB. Being English with an international background I can relate better to both home and international students, by having a deeper more personal understanding of the difficulties and advantages of studying both home and abroad. Hopefully this makes me approachable for people from all different walks of life. Equally, during High School I was a representative for my year and as such I have prior experience and an insight into what it takes to best represent a student voice in a student-staff committee. Outside of my studies I am a committed member of the rowing club as well as being part of LawSoc and a member of the Lacrosse squad. Having been involved in many different activities I have a broad network and feel I can relate to a wide range of people. By rowing 12 times a week I have learnt to manage work with sporting commitments, whilst still being able to make the most of university. Reflecting my organizational skills, which I believe are key for an SSLC role.

I would love to be given the chance to represent our course in the SSLC as I feel that students should have a greater role in shaping the way our course is run. I believe it is key to maintain a healthy level of communication between staff and students if everyone is to get the most out of the opportunities that are provided to us. As a SSLC representative I would strive to make the voice of the students heard and would enjoy the challenge of making sure I have a positive impact on our university life.  Overall, I think my commitment, approachability and organization, amongst others, would enable me to successfully fulfill the role as SSLC representative if I am given the opportunity to do so.

Yann Daoudi

My name is Yann Daoudi, I am currently studying International Management and would like to present my application for the position of Student and Staff Liaison Committee.

I believe to be an open-minded, well-driven and extremely curious student who would like to contribute to the life of the University in an active manner. Another reason of my candidacy is that the past six years before University I was an engaged and determined class president. Continuing this experience at university would mean a lot to me because acting for a cause and fighting for the academic experience of students is what drives me.

Being a Third Culture Kid has given me the ability to adapt to my environment and surroundings. Moreover, I have lived in a host family, in a boarding school and in a shared-house with students which demonstrates my ability to manage long-term, nonconflictual relationships. In other words, I have learnt to connect with people and know how to convey their concerns in their best interests. I would be consensual and diplomatic in the way I approach problems - that the students or staff are facing- in order to inform and represent both parties to the best of my abilities.

All in all, I strongly believe to have the required experience to make the most of this position and to personally gain an insight of the university life.
