Dr Adriano Lameira & Dr. Ani Permana pay tribute to Dame Jane Goodall

Following the news of Dame Jane Goodall's passing last night, University of Warwick researchers at the Ape Tank research group pay tribute to her impact and legacy.

Dr Adriano Lameira, Associate Professor, University of Warwick and PI of the Ape Tank research group said:

“Jane Goodall impacted our world through restless gentleness, an undying passion to help her ape brethren and fellow humans alike, a woman whose wise aura and legacy will continue to shine a path forward towards tolerance and a generative co-existence with nature through all those who she touched and inspired."

Dr. Ani Permana, Research Fellow, Ape Tank, Department of Psychology, University of Warwick said:

"As someone who was personally inspired by Jane and was lucky enough to meet her, I would add that not only was she a tireless campaigner for protection of the natural world, she was also a genuinely nice person, a kind soul who walked gently on the earth but had a great impact.

"She always had time and kindness for others, and she touched millions of people around the world, leaving many of us with our own special 'Jane Goodall moment'.

"For me, we have lost a leader and champion of nature. Her death is very sad, but she would not want us to dwell. She was a doer, and she would want us all to carry on her and her legacy to work to protect the earth and all of its inhabitants."
