Nobel Peace Prize winner and Former President of Switzerland to attend Warwick Economics Summit 2025

The Warwick Economics Summit returns to The University of Warwick with Nobel Peace Prize winners, former World Leaders, and CEO’s as keynote speakers and panellists.

The Warwick Economics Summit (WES) is one of the largest student-led conferences in Europe. WES 2025 will take place 24-26 January and will host speakers from Nobel Peace Laureates to former World leaders and showcase keynote speeches on chemical disarmament to panel debates on the future of AI.

WES 2025 will welcome in-person and virtual delegations and guests to connect students and journalists from across the world. The summit aims to engage the future leaders and generation in discussion about the economic and political world.

Panels focusing on the dynamics of technology and economy include The AI Economy: The Role of AI in Transforming Industries and Beyond Banknotes: Navigating the Future of a Cashless Society. In the wake of discourse on global divergence, there will also be a panel discussion on The Future of Global Development: Envisioning a Path for Economic Convergence.

Daniel Rego, co-President of WES 2025 said, “It has been a great experience working with such a talented group of students to bring the 24th edition of WES to life. This year, we have increased the number of discussion panels in the conference as well as broadened our scope to include more conversations between economists and experts in science and technology. I am personally looking forward to our panel on digital currencies and the challenges and opportunities resulting from their widespread adoption”.

“Our Summit prides itself on attracting international visitors to Warwick and stimulating meaningful interactions between them and our local student community. We are currently on track to host our largest ever external delegation of attendees, with almost 280 tickets sold for students from over 20 universities spanning across 12 countries".
