New Team Warwick identity unveiled to unite active wellness and sport
The new Team Warwick identity brings together Warwick’s sports clubs, teams, members and active programmes across all participation levels, boosting the presence and recognisability of active wellness and sport on and off campus.
From physical activity to high-performance student sports teams, the new Team Warwick identity reflects the different ways people can take part in active wellness and sport at Warwick. The new identity makes it easier for students, staff and the wider community to see the breadth and depth of engagement the University delivers.
Mark Hyndman, Director of Sport & Active Lifestyles at the University of Warwick, said: “This is an exciting next step in the University’s Active Wellness and Sport Strategy. Team Warwick gives us an opportunity to bring together the many different ways people take part in active wellness and sport under a single identity, providing a platform to create a stronger sense of community, belonging and pride across our sporting community.
“Most importantly, this has been shaped by the community who know Warwick best. We’ve been working very closely with Warwick Students’ Union throughout the project to incorporate significant input from students throughout the development of the new identity, particularly through student sports club groups such as Sports Forum and Presidents’ Group.
“More than 4,600 students, club members, staff, prospective students and members of the community shared their views, helping us create something that reflects the breadth of active wellness and sport at Warwick today and supports our ambition to become an international leader in active wellness and sport.”
The new identity supports the continued rollout of the University’s evolved brand, and gives Warwick’s clubs, teams, memberships and active programmes a more consistent look across the University, while providing a platform to celebrate the people, achievements and opportunities that make up its sporting community.
Nazrana Meghji, Vice President for Sports at Warwick Students' Union, said: “The new Team Warwick identity unites active wellness and sport at the University with a clear, consistent and inclusive identity. This enables us to achieve the best possible sporting experience for our students, encouraging physical activity across all participation levels regardless of ability or prior sporting journey. The identity has been shaped by extensive insights from students to maximise engagement, pride and belonging throughout our communities on and off campus.”
The refreshed look comes as Warwick embarks on a new multi-year kit partnership deal with new kit supplier, Surridge Sport. This means Team Warwick will have a consistent look across playing kits, training and leisurewear, and staff uniform, linking consistently with digital channels, facilities and communications to give the active wellness and sport community at Warwick a recognisable and powerful identity.
Over the coming months, the Team Warwick identity will be introduced across sports clubs, facilities, teamwear and communications, making it easier for students, staff and the wider community to discover the opportunities available.
