Biden's efforts in the US Democratic Debates - expert comment from Dr Ben Gannon

Dr Ben Gannon from the Department of Politics and International Studies at the University of Warwick comments on Biden's efforts in the US Democratic Debates. He says:

"What Biden's team see as one of their man's key strengths is his decades of experience and willingness to 'reach across the aisle' however this is also a major weakness in the Democratic primaries, as he comes into the campaign with a record of associating with segregationist politicians and finds himself with an uncomfortable history on a number of issues.

For the Democratic candidates, they are going to have to walk a fine line between trying to paint Biden as out of touch with the modern Democratic party base, without providing ammunition for a President that is well known for capitalising on any weaknesses in his opponents."
