Expert comment: 'Costs will be huge if we Brexit without an appropriate deal'
Professor Abhinay Muthoo of the Department of Economics and Warwick in London has commented on the continuing debates around the Brexit Withdrawl Agreement.
He said:
"In the light of recent developments in Parliament, there is significantly more uncertainty about the eventual outcome than before. There will be costs to the economy in the short to medium term whatever the outcome, but these costs will be huge if we Brexit without an appropriate deal. So at all cost we must not let that happen. It is difficult to say what the outcome will be. Lot to do with politics. I am confident that a compromise will be reached - in one form or another - to avoid a no deal Brexit."
