Government announcement on energy bill support for businesses
Mark Swift, Director of SME Engagement, WMG, University of Warwick, comments on the UK government announcement on Monday (9 Jan) to scale back energy subsidies for businesses for the next financial year to 5.5 billion pounds.
Mark Swift, Director of SME Engagement, Warwick Manufacturing Group, University of Warwick said,” WMG, at the University of Warwick is working with hundreds of manufacturing small and medium-sized enterprises to help them improve sustainability and productivity, and we can see the adverse effect that energy prices are having on those businesses.
“Our newly launched Business Energy Aid Toolkit programme is helping companies reduce their energy costs through specific measures associated with their buildings, plant and people, and has found savings of up to 90% for some manufacturing processes.”
