Removal of the Digital brief from the Department of Culture, Media and Sport
Following the removal of the Digital brief from the Department of Culture, Media and Sport, Dr. David Wright, from the Centre for Cultural and Media Policy Studies at the University of Warwick said:
“I hope this will lead to more focus on the vital areas of Art and Culture in their own right but our research highlights concerns that removing the digital portfolio will significantly lessen the influence of the Department, making it harder for arts and cultural organisations to be heard.”
Dr Wright has co-written written a paper entitled Culture is Digital and the Shifting Terrain of UK cultural policy which examined the 2018 DCMS Culture is Digital Report.
