New Awards to Celebrate Student Achievement

Giving to Warwick Prize Winners 2009

The very first Awards Ceremony for the Giving to Warwick Student Prizes was held in October 2009 and celebrated the achievements of over 20 students from 10 departments across the University.

The prizes were established as a result of philanthropic donations from Warwick Benefactors in order to recognise the academic excellence of Warwick students in various disciplines.

Prizes were awarded for a range of accomplishments including excellence in dissertations, outstanding academic performances and innovative extra-curricular activities relating to academic studies.

As well as recognising specific successes, feedback has shown that the prizes have also encouraged winners in their future studies.

Prize Winner, Joseph Jackson says, "I am extremely grateful to Warwick University’s thriving philanthropic community for providing such a generous reward. Formal recognition for last year’s hard work is very much appreciated and the prize evening offered a perfect opportunity to reflect on the previous year whilst considering challenges for the future." These awards are organised by the Development and Alumni Relations Office (DARO) and are only possible thanks to the generosity of Warwick's alumni and friends and we very much look forward to awarding more prizes in 2009/10.

All donations to Warwick make an impact, helping ensure that it remains at the forefront of academic research and teaching, that students from all backgrounds can benefit from the ‘Warwick Experience’ and that they and the University can have a positive impact on the world around them.

Gifts can directly benefit Warwick students in three ways including providing student support, recognising academic excellence and developing the learning environment.

There a variety of ways to make donations to Warwick and all members of the Warwick Development Team will be pleased to discuss Warwick’s fundraising goals with you.
