As announced in the last issue of CommUnicate, the University is currently implementing a number of major changes in the way it manages student recruitment in the UK and EU and in the structuring of its undergraduate and postgraduate admissions teams.
The new Student Recruitment and Admissions Office (SRAO) will bring together three teams that, up until now, have been managed separately: Undergraduate Admissions, Postgraduate Admissions and the UK/EU Student Recruitment Office. Ken Sloan has been appointed as Director of the SRAO and will take up the post from January 2003. Yvonne Salter-Wright will manage the Undergraduate Recruitment and Admissions Team and will also manage the SRAO’s Widening Participation activities. The University is currently appointing to a new post that will manage the Postgraduate Recruitment and Admissions Team. A new Enquiry and Events Team will work in support of both teams to provide a high quality enquiry and prospectus ordering service, while also managing the University’s attendance at Higher Education fairs and key recruitment events including Open Days.
The SRAO will work closely with colleagues in the International Office and the Graduate School Office to ensure that the University can offer the best standard of service to its enquirers, applicants and their supporters. The SRAO will also support the Chair of the Warwick Graduate School, Professor Malcolm McCrae, and the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Undergraduate Matters, Professor John Jones, to ensure that the University’s strategies for postgraduate and undergraduate recruitment are fully reflected in the SRAO’s activities.
More information about staff in the SRAO and their planned activities will be announced in CommUnicate and on insite early in the spring term. If you wish to get involved in the outreach activities of the SRAO, or wish to know more about its work then feel free to email Ken Sloan at email@example.com
