In 1978, the former Coventry College of Education merged with the University to form what is now the Institute of Education on the Westwood site.

Former Education students and staff returned to Westwood for their annual reunion in May to be welcomed by 92-year old Miss J. D. Browne, the first Principal of the college. The visitors enjoyed presentations from Adam Boddison, a Warwick Mathematics graduate and current PGCE student, and Jim Rushton, Operations Director of the Warwick based National Academy for Gifted and Talented Youth.

Speaking of Adam’s presentation "Teacher Training in the 21st Century" Juliet Amery, a member of the University’s Court and former student at the college, explained "It was not only interesting to learn what was included in the course but fascinating to see what no longer featured. Adam's interactive presentation, in the form of a well - prepared lesson, included a test at the end!"

The College films are now available on video and DVD. Copies can be ordered from the Development & Alumni Relations Office on 024 7657 4417 at a cost of £9 (video) and £10 (DVD) inclusive of postage.
