Summer Degree Ceremonies 2012

Summer GraduationThe University’s Summer Degree Ceremonies will take place from Monday 16 to Friday 20 July 2012.

The Summer Ceremonies are a celebration of our students' successes and achievements and, with eleven ceremonies throughout the week, will see around 4,000 students graduating from the University. The ceremonies will take place in the Butterworth Hall in the Arts Centre.

As well as celebrating student successes, honorary degrees will be awarded to distinguished people who have made important contributions to cultural, intellectual, social, economic or political life.

This year, recipients include Harry Potter actor David Bradley; Steve Heighway, former Liverpool footballer and three-time European Cup winner and the new Head of the Civil Service, Sir Bob Kerslake. Each honorary graduand is presented by an orator, who will deliver a short citation about the achievements that have led to the award of the degree.
