Technology developed by the University of Warwick that can identify partial, distorted, scratched, smudged, or otherwise warped fingerprints in just a few seconds has just scored top marks in the worlds two toughest technical fingerprint tests. The technology is also being rapidly taken up by the UK building trade who are delighted to have fingerprint technology which can cope with the often worn and ravaged builders thumbprints.

Warwick Business School hosted a free public forum on the impact of the recession in Latin America on the 2nd June, led by José Juan Ruiz Gómez of the Santander Group. 'No Paradise without Banks' looked at how the current crisis is being felt in Latin America by looking at its origins, the problem of leveraging, consequences and the impact in Latin America as well as the problems faced on the road to recovery. Sr Gómez is the Director of Analysis and Strategy at the Santander Group and the forum is part of the Santander Universities Partnership which Warwick signed in November 2008.

The University of Warwick and Abbey National plc, Banco Santanders UK subsidiary,have signed a 3-year agreement that will provide scholarships for overseas students to study at Warwick. Santander Universities Global Division will also support Warwicks new Institute of Advanced Study as well as the Universitys work with its local community.
