RuPaul’s Drag Race star to headline University of Warwick’s Pride Festival

The University of Warwick is thrilled to announce the line-up for this year’s Pride Festival, including RuPaul’s Drag Race stars Cheddar Gorgeous and Black Peppa, and local LGTBQ+ artists.

Organised in collaboration with the Students' Union and supported by Coventry’s premier LGBTQ+ nightclub, Glamorous, this year’s festival on the 14th June promises an unforgettable day filled with vibrant performances, community spirit, and a celebration of diversity and inclusion.

Cheddar Gorgeous, a finalist in Season 4 of RuPaul's Drag Race UK, will headline the festival with a dazzling performance from 8:00pm to 8:30pm.

Known for their artistic flair and captivating stage presence, Cheddar Gorgeous (Dr Michael Atkins) is a Manchester-based drag performer, visual artist, and academic.

Before their headline act, join them for an engaging conversation with host, Ibi Profane, from 4:00pm to 4:30pm in the Warwick Arts Centre Studio.

Additional Performances include:

Black PeppaBlack Peppa: The Caribbean Empress of Birmingham will stun audiences with the high energy and jaw-dropping performance style she wowed the UK with in Drag Race UK. Recently, she performed at the Birmingham Symphony Hall, and she brings her iconic and inimitable style to the main stage from 7:25pm to 7:55pm.

Ibi Profane: Warwick’s own drag artist and PhD researcher will co-host the event, bringing their unique blend of wit, performance, and activism at 5:30pm, don’t be surprised to see singing, circus acts, comedy and lip-syncing (often all at once).
Bambi Bang Bang
Bambi Bang Bang: The glamorous burlesque and drag artist from Birmingham will co-host and perform at 6:50pm. Don’t be fooled by her bubblegum smile and silver-screen charms, this diva has more bad jokes than your drunk uncle at a wedding.


Séayoncé: The award-winning ghost whisperer and comedy cabaret act will take the stage from 6:15pm - 6:45pm, she’s already seen the future; it's bouto be an occult classic.

Richard Energy: King of Comedy Richard Energy (he/they) has starred in a major theatre tour of Drag comedy show: “Death Drop” that ended with a hugely successful West End run. His stand up and character comedy is sure to have you clutching your sides between 5:50pm-6:10pm.

In addition to the incredible performances, the festival will feature food vans, community stalls, a rodeo bull, fairground activities, a photobooth, and much more.
