British university football semi-finals come to Warwick

One of the biggest events in the university sport calendar will take place at the University of Warwick next week.

Warwick is hosting the British Universities and Colleges (BUCS) Sport National Football Semi-finals on 21 March.

The first three matches will kick off at 12.30pm. Northumbria will play Bath in the Men’s Championship semi-finals, Hertfordshire will play Northumbria in the Women’s Championship semi-finals and Durham will play Gloucester in the Women’s Trophy Final.

At 3pm, Stirling will play Loughborough in the Men’s Championship semi-finals, Leeds Metropolitan will play Loughborough in the Women’s Championship semi finals and the Men’s Trophy Final will see Brighton and Loughborough battle for the title.

University of Warwick Deputy Director of Sport James Ellis said he was delighted to welcome BUCS to the campus.

He said: “It is great that Warwick has been chosen to host the semi-finals, we have fantastic facilities here and we are looking forward to some great football.”
