Update on progress of disciplinary process and values reviews – May 2019

This is to inform students, staff, alumni and friends of the University on the latest progress on the independent review of disciplinary processes and the community review of values and behaviours. Thank you for your involvement so far through meetings with Dr Sharon Persaud, being members of the Joint Advisory Group, participation in consultation sessions regarding values and completion of online feedback.

Sharon Persaud has now formed interim recommendations, and the Joint Group has drafted a set of principles to support our institutional values. They met on 20 May to share their findings and start to test proposed improvements and align and prioritise workstreams. The final recommendations will be reported to the University Senate in June and the Council in July with the intention of sharing reports and next steps publicly over the summer. Further background and questions & answers on the case and subsequent reviews are available to view online.
