A group of 15 policy-makers and managers from the UK are making a two-week study trip to the USA as part of their Warwick MPA (the public sector MBA).

The focus of the visit is on US national and local governance. The first week is being spent in Washington DC, and in addition to lectures from staff at Georgetown and George Washington Universities, there will be meetings with staff from the World Bank, Institute of Policy Studies, the Carnegie Endowment for World Peace, and the British Embassy.

The Warwick MPA will also visit the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University in an intensive residential workshop with a group of American state and local government executives.

"This US study trip reinforces Warwick Business School's commitment to inter-disciplinary work on issues of governance, public policy and management, and to internationalise its activities," says Professor John Benington.

The Warwick MPA is a three year, part-time degree. It is based on three two-week blocks of teaching each year. There are 9 core modules and 4 electives in the programme and a dissertation.
