Warwick Conferences, the conference business arm of the University of Warwick, have three reasons to celebrate this week. First they won the prestigious Meetings and Incentive Travel Industry Award for "Best Academic Venue" (the 8th time they have won this award over the 14 year history of the competition). Secondly Scarman House, one of Universities three all year conference centres, has won the award for "Best UK Management Training Centre"- a new award category for the competition. These two awards could not have come at a better time as this week also sees the launch of Warwick Conferences re-branding project, officially unveiled at International Confex 2002, the showcase of the meetings, events and incentive travel industry.

To mark this triple success Warwick Conferences have teamed up with Trinity Street Taxis in a new advertising campaign The new Warwick Conferences identity will be displayed internally across the entire existing fleet of Trinity's Taxi's - a total of sixty. However to celebrate the addition of two new taxis to Trinity's fleet, the new Warwick Conferences identity will feature the new brand externally. Andrew Paine of Warwick Conferences said: "the new brand identity is the culmination of an exciting ten month project to raise the profile of the unique range of conference facilities at Warwick".

The new identity, featuring two interactive speech bubbles, focuses on the distinctive meeting experience at Warwick rather than just the physical facilities. The new brand was developed after extensive discussions with staff and customers who said unanimously that the success of events at Warwick depend on what people experience: the service, the expertise and the professional support for the meeting.

The Awards are held annually on the eve of International Confex. This year, the event was held on Monday 18th February, at the London Hilton on Park Lane and attended by more than 800 leading figures from the meetings industry. Organised by Meetings and Incentive Travel Magazine, the event was established in 1988 to bring the various sectors of the meetings industry together and reward excellence in service and product.

Receiving the award for Scarman House , Brian Healy, General Manager of Scarman House said: "This is an amazing achievement for the team at Scarman House. This category is new for 2002 - we are honoured to be the first to win such an accolade. The M&IT Awards are highly regarded throughout the meetings industry and it recognises the quality and excellence of our product and the effort of our staff"

Cathy McGreevy, Head of Conference Business at Warwick Conferences commented: "We are delighted to have won both Awards. It is the eighth time we have won the Best Academic Venue. With the largest concentration of meeting space in the UK, we are renowned for setting the pace. Winning such awards helps us to reaffirm our position within the marketplace"

On Trinity Taxis Brian Healy commented "we have worked together with Trinity Street Taxis for fifteen years. Our relationship with them has flourished over the years due to the professionalism, efficiency and flexibility of all the team, especially their Senior Operator - Warren Ellis."
