Journalist held captive by Taliban tells of conversion to Islam

Journalist Yvonne Ridley, who was famously held captive by the Taliban in Afghanistan, is to talk about her recent decision to convert to Islam at a special dinner at the University of Warwick to raise funds to add a new prayer room for Muslim students to the University's Chaplaincy.

The dinner, which will take place at 5pm on Tuesday 14th January in the Cryfield Sports Pavilion at the University of Warwick has been organised by the University's Islamic Society and the University's chaplains will be chaired by His Excellency Dato'Hj. Salim Hashim the Malaysian High Commissioner to the UK. A number of other UK embassies will also be sending representatives.
