Science and technology come to life at Warwick’s Resonate Festival

The University of Warwick recently welcomed hundreds of visitors for the Resonate Festival of Science and Technology, a celebration designed to spark curiosity and inspire future generations in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths).
Held at The Oculus, the free-to-attend event featured interactive experiments, live demonstrations, and engaging talks from Warwick’s inspiring students and staff, offering hands-on opportunities to explore how science shapes the world around us.
Science enthusiasts of all ages took part in hands-on activities covering everything from engineering and medicine to computing and astronomy. Live demonstrations proved to be audience favourites, blending education with entertainment.

Professor Helen Wheatley, Academic Director of the Warwick Institute of Engagement, said: “The Resonate Festival of Science and Technology is all about making science and technology accessible, inclusive and exciting. Seeing people of all ages engage with our researchers, test out experiments, and discover new ideas is exactly what this festival is all about.”
Visitors also explored Warwick’s state-of-the-art facilities, with the Marsh Observatory and Esports Centre opening their doors for visiting explorers. Academics from the University’s Faculty of Science, Engineering, and Medicine were on hand to share their expertise and answer questions, ensuring an inspiring and informative experience for all.
Andrew Todd, Director of Regional Strategy and Partnerships at Warwick, added: “This festival highlights Warwick’s passion for showcasing our research to the wider community audiences. We want to encourage curiosity and demonstrate the exciting ways science and technology impact our daily lives.”

With another successful festival complete, The University of Warwick continues its commitment to engaging the public with ground-breaking research and hands-on learning.
