University of Warwick ranked in the top 20 universities in Europe

The University of Warwick has been named as one of the top universities in Europe, in the inaugural edition of the QS World University Rankings: Europe.

Global higher education analyst QS Quacquarelli Symonds has today released its first Europe-wide ranking, which places Warwick 19th in Europe and 12th in the UK.

This edition of the ranking features 690 institutions across 42 locations, including 107 in the UK.

The rankings are calculated using 12 different measures, including academic reputation, international research, sustainability and reputation among employers.

Warwick has ranked highly in the new league table, including for both employer and academic reputation, where Warwick ranked 15th and 26th across Europe respectively.

Professor Stuart Croft, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Warwick, said: “It’s wonderful to see our university consistently rated so highly in recent league tables and across such a wide range of measures. It reflects the academic brilliance, passion and dedication of our colleagues and students, which makes this such a special place.”

The latest QS guide confirms further rankings this year, including the Guardian University Guide and the QS World Rankings, which once again placed Warwick in the top 10 nationally.

Recent results in the latest National Student Survey also ranked Warwick in the top three universities in the Russell Group across all question groups.

Warwick recently hosted Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who visited campus to announce the UK would be rejoining the Horizon research scheme, which encourages collaboration between researchers across Europe.

Warwick works closely with a broad range of European partners, including through Eutopia, an alliance of 10 like-mined universities, and the Guild of European Research-intensive universities in 16 countries, which is dedicated to enhancing the voice of academic institutions, their researchers and their students.
