Warwick ranked 4th in Europe in new Times Higher Education (THE) Europe Teaching Rankings 2018

University of WarwickTHE (the Times Higher Education) have announced in their Thursday 12th July 2018 edition, that the University of Warwick has been ranked 4th in Europe in their new Times Higher Education (THE) Europe Teaching Rankings 2018. Only Oxford, Cambridge and the Sorbonne were ranked above Warwick.

The ranking uses surveys, data Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), and other data relating to 242 institutions across Europe to compile its table and describes itself as the first international university ranking to be focused entirely on teaching and learning”.

Phil Baty, Editorial Director of global rankings at the Times Higher Education (THE) said:

“While teaching is perhaps the single most important mission of any university, no other international ranking focuses entirely on teaching and learning, placing student needs at its very heart. This initiative is an important world first, offering a much-needed fresh perspective on excellence in higher education. The University of Warwick does particularly well in our ‘outcomes’ score, for successful student progress - but also does very well in our student engagement survey, demonstrating that its students feel stretched, challenged and stimulated by their courses.”

Warwick’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Stuart Croft, said:

"As I have said before it is not just today but every day that I hear stories and testimony of how Warwick staff and students are working together to share in Warwick’s exceptional teaching and learning experience."

"I wish once again to thank everyone who helps make teaching at Warwick an experience that is so treasured and valued. I am delighted that this ranking shows that your work is winning recognition not just in the UK, but across Europe.”
