Warwick Shortlisted for University of the Year in the 2025 Daily Mail University Guide
The University of Warwick has been shortlisted for the "University of the Year" title in the 2025 edition of the Daily Mail University Guide.
Warwick emerged as the highest-ranked institution among the five universities selected for this top honour, highlighting its exceptional performance across all key pillars of the guide's ranking criteria.
This shortlisting recognises Warwick's outstanding achievements in teaching excellence, student experience, research quality, graduate outcomes, and social inclusion.
Additionally, The University of Warwick has climbed one position in this year's ranking, now standing proudly at 6th place.
Professor Stuart Croft, Vice Chancellor and President of The University of Warwick, said: “Our rise in these rankings reflect our continued commitment to academic excellence.
“We’re incredibly pleased for this to be recognised and reflected in our shortlisting for University of the Year in these rankings.
“As we approach Warwick’s 60th anniversary next year, and look to the future, we remain committed to providing the very best educational experience for our students. We see them as change-makers and aim to equip them with the knowledge and skills to make a positive contribution to society”.
Alastair McCall, Editor of the Daily Mail University Guide, commented:
“Warwick is one of the academic powerhouses of British higher education, a ranking of 6th in the new Daily Mail university ranking this year evidence of why it is so popular with prospective students.
“Warwick has recognised more than most Russell Group members the value of degree apprenticeships as a means of opening up higher education to the broadest possible audience.
“With nearly one-third of students the first in their immediate families to go to university, Warwick outperforms many of its Russell Group rivals.
“In the space of 60 years, Warwick has made an indelible mark on the British higher education landscape. For its considerable achievements to date and its potential to achieve so much more, Warwick earns a well-deserved shortlisting for the Daily Mail University of the Year 2025 title.”
The University's ability to consistently deliver high-quality education and exceptional support for its students—both during their time at Warwick and as they enter the graduate job market—was pivotal in securing this nomination.
Warwick's impressive track record in graduate outcomes, in particular, was a key factor in its selection as one of the nation's leading universities.
This rise further cements Warwick's status as one of the UK’s top universities, renowned for its commitment to academic excellence and student success.
The detailed rankings are available here. The print edition of the guide will be featured in the Mail on Sunday on September 8.
