What happens when I join?

New members can sign up using our registration formLink opens in a new window.

Within a week you should be forwarded invitations to the RCEN Teams group and calendar invitations to our bi-monthly meetings.

What happens next?

RCEN Teams Group:

The Teams group is ideal for informal chats with 200+ like-minded colleagues and for getting advice. We’re focused on sharing best practices and avoiding duplication. No question is too basic— so please ask away.

Once you join the network, you’ll receive an invite to the Teams group.

Networking Slides:
In the RCEN Teams group, you’ll find a Networking Slides template, which you can use to share details with fellow members, including your research culture journey, key priorities, areas of expertise, and what you hope to learn from others. This information will help us understand the makeup of the network and enhance training and collaborative activities.

RCEN Committee:

The RCEN Committee, with its diverse makeup, is key to steering the Research Culture Enablers Network. Do you have ideas for enhancing our network activities? We’d love to hear from you—get in touch with us at researchculture@warwick.ac.uk

How often does the network meet?

RCEN Meetings:

Every two months, we get together for:

Group networking and 'roadmapping' on specific research culture challenges
Sector updates on Research Culture
Presentations from RCEN members
Talks by external guest speakers
Q&A sessions and informal networking

Meetings are usually held virtually on Microsoft Teams.

The Research Culture Enablers Network is just one initiative of the NCRC. Have a look at our websiteLink opens in a new window for more opportunities, including our Research Culture Conversation Series and International Research Culture Conference. NCRC is also leading research on research culture, so please get in touch if you are interested in collaborating on funding bids or other strategic initiatives to catalyse change at scale.

What, ultimately, is the network trying to achieve?

In the short term, RCEN aims to counter siloed working and isolation among research culture enablers, fostering a positive environment for collaboration on shared challenges.

In the medium term, RCEN strives to improve the professionalisation of research culture enablers, through opportunities to improve our thought leadership, mentoring and advocacy.

In the long term, RCEN hopes to have mobilised momentum around key challenges and to have contributed to meaningful research culture change through research on research culture projects and other collaborative initiatives.
