Governance of the project is delivered through three key bodies: the Programme Delivery Group, Programme Board and Advisory Panel. The National Commission also plays a key role, acting as a critical friend throughout the project, representing the sector in contributing to recommendations for change.
The Programme Board are the main decision-making board. They meet quarterly to oversee progress, make agreed decisions on project delivery, monitor risks and approve communications. Membership (in addition to the RPF team) includes:
Professor Stephen Cummings PVC Research and Knowledge – Teesside University
Professor Colin Bain Professor of Chemistry – Durham University
Fleur Hughes PRISMS Manager – University of York
Professor David Leadley PVC Research – University of Warwick
Jenny Taylor Executive Director Research & Innovation Services – Northumbria University
Dr Bryony Wakefield Executive Director Research Management & Innovation – King’s College London
The Programme Delivery Group is the delivery mechanism for the RPF project. They meet monthly and develop the project scope and the project plan. They monitor project progress against milestones and the budget. The Programme Delivery Group consists of the RPF co-Lead and project team, the RPF Delivery partners and members from ARMA.
The independent advisory group meets biannually and provides scrutiny for the project, and it is made up of some of the members of our National Commission. They make recommendations to the Programme Board on WP3 funding.
Our Commission brings together leaders from across the UK research system - Research Professionals, funders, academics and sector specialists - to act as a critical friend throughout the project.
It will:
guide and challenge the project’s direction
support national evidence gathering
amplify the work through their networks
help shape the RP Blueprint and sector recommendations
