Kate Whiteford

Kate Whiteford was born in Glasgow. She has achieved a reputation as an artist willing to explore many different media and techniques, sculpture, drawing, painting, photography and site specific land art. She makes reference to archaeology in some of her work, introducing symbols from ancient cultures into paintings, for example; the idea of ‘revealing hidden narratives’ underpins much of her output, particularly in her ‘land drawings’ one of which was Priory Maze – in the Garden of International Friendship in Coventry City Centre (1998-2004).
