Trip to the National Gallery

From October to January the National Gallery will be holding its much-awaited exhibition of Velasquez (1599 - 1660).  This is the U.K.'s first ever comprehensive exhibition tracing the artist's entire career.  The National Gallery's own substantial holdings will be augmented by important works on loan from the Museo del Prado and other major collections - almost half of the world's surviving works by Velasquez will be on show.  This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the achievements of one of the world's greatest and most influential painters.  The cost of the trip will be £22 (members and students) or £24 (non-members) which includes admission (at the £10 per person group rate) plus transport.  The coach will leave the main University bus stop promptly at 8.30am, car parking is available in the multi-storey car parks 7 or 8 (£1.80 charge).  The return time will be about 7.00pm.
