Student module feedback

Collect and analyse end-of-module student feedback data - Standardised core questions to aid data aggregation

Contact the Digital Learning team for help, support and advice for any digital learning tool or task.

Affordances

Simple to use: there is a template in the Moodle VLE that can be added to and made live in the Moodle module space (step-by-step instructions). The template includes six core questions to aid data aggregation within and between departments. Students can complete the survey anonymously, and it is strongly recommended that you set aside time in a face to face session to do this, to improve completion rates. There is an option for a module leader to send an email reminder to students who have not yet completed the survey. When the survey closes, staff with relevant access rights within the department can see a quick preview of anonymised responses.

Student Module Feedback at Warwick with Moodle

  1. Add the Student module feedback template to your module page. We recommend that you use the common set of questions. This is not mandatory but it is recommended as it will assist departments in aggregating data across programmes.
  2. Ask students to fill the survey in online during a teaching session. This will improve the response rate and ensure that support is available to students in filling out the survey and interpreting the questions.

  3. When the survey closes, staff with relevant access rights to a module can see a preview of anonymised responses in Moodle.
  4. View the results via Moodle for an overview of your module's effectiveness and benefits.
