Faculty Support Driving Innovation in Digital Learning

Digital Learning’s Faculty Support teams are continuing to collaborate across the university to enhance teaching and learning through innovative digital practices.

Work continues on the development of an online AI Toolkit with the faculties of Social Sciences and Arts. Scheduled to launch in July, the toolkit aims to support staff and students in navigating the evolving role of AI in higher education. Contributions of content from students and staff are being invited on a range of themes, including AI ethics, assessment design, and academic integrity, with formats ranging from short videos and podcasts to blogs and practical guides.

To assist contributors, we have useful guidance on how to create engaging videos and podcasts and for additional support in these areas, please contact us for assistance.

In addition to the AI Toolkit, the Faculty Support team has been working with the Centre for Lifelong Learning, providing advice on digital pedagogy and tools to support the first year of their online degree programmes in Child Wellbeing and Early Years Mental Health and Wellbeing.

Our Faculty Support team also recently met with colleagues in SCAVPC to explore how digital technologies are being integrated across departments. Discussions included how staff and students are currently engaging with AI, how it is influencing careers in the Arts, and its potential to support students with additional needs.

Listen to our Faculty Advisor, David Voss to hear how we can help to support and develop creative and innovative approaches to teaching and learning.
