Meet the Digital Learning Team

The Digital Learning team comprises 4 functional areas - Educational Technology, Learning Design, Digital Learning Faculty Support, and the Management and Projects team - as well as cross-team working groups with a specific pedagogic focus and interest. We work alongside and consult with academics and departments to design courses and use multimedia and online learning tools to create educational experiences.

Please introduce yourself and tell us a bit about your role in the Digital Learning team

I'm a Learning Designer in the Digital Learning Team. I've been creating digital learning experiences from standalone resources to more comprehensive courses. I've also picked up a lot of experience in creating accessible and inclusive learning content.

How did you come to work in DL? Have you always worked in this area?

Before DL I worked in WBS as a Teaching and Learning Coordinator, supporting with lecture capture and other technologies such as GoReact and Adobe CC. The Teaching and Learning Enhancement Team are really well resourced, and I learned a lot!

What’s one thing you wish more people knew about the work your team does?

We can offer support with digital learning design, not just technology! We can help you to create engaging and impactful learning experiences and resources for students. Right now it's hard to see past AI as it's just everywhere. I'm excited about learning experience platforms like LinkedIn Learning and the opportunities they afford to deliver something highly customisable to the learner. I love the green campus, the close-knit community, and the inspiring work that goes on here!
