Digital Learning Team

Meet the Digital Learning Team
The Digital Learning team comprises 4 functional areas - Educational Technology, Learning Design, Digital Learning Faculty Support, and the Management and Projects team - as well as cross-team working groups with a specific pedagogic focus and interest. We work alongside and consult with academics and departments to design courses and use multimedia and online learning tools to create educational experiences.
Yihua Huang
Please introduce yourself and tell us a bit about your role in the Digital Learning team.
My name is Yihua Huang, and I am the Faculty Digital Learning Advisor for the Faculty of Social Sciences.
How did you come to work in Digital Learning? Have you always worked in this area?
I previously worked as an E-learning Advisor in the Academic Technology team, which was part of IT Services. When the Academic Technology team moved under Education in 2021, I became a member of the Digital Learning team. Following further changes through Warwick’s Transformation programme, my role transitioned to Faculty Digital Learning Advisor.
What do you wish people knew about the work your team does?
We’re here to support all aspects of digital learning—helping academic staff adapt to rapid technological changes, including the integration of digital tools in teaching and learning. We also work closely with IDG and departmental academic technologists, acting as a bridge to share our expertise and collaborate on innovative educational approaches.
How do you see the future of digital learning evolving, and what excites you most about it?
With AI becoming increasingly accessible, digital learning needs to evolve to reflect this shift. This may mean rethinking traditional teaching and assessment methods to focus more on creativity, critical thinking, and AI literacy. I’m excited about how digital learning can empower students - not only to academical achievement but also to prepare for future employment and find their place in a fast-changing world.
What’s your favourite part of working in Digital Learning, or at Warwick?
One of the best things about working in Digital Learning at Warwick is the people. There’s always someone with deep expertise in a particular area, and being part of such a knowledgeable and collaborative team makes the work enjoyable.
