Meet the Digital Learning Team

The Digital Learning team comprises 4 functional areas - Educational Technology, Learning Design, Digital Learning Faculty Support, and the Management and Projects team - as well as cross-team working groups with a specific pedagogic focus and interest. We work alongside and consult with academics and departments to design courses and use multimedia and online learning tools to create educational experiences.

Please introduce yourself and tell us a bit about your role in the Digital Learning team

Hi, I'm Sunil and I'm the SocSci Digital Learning Consultant. I hope to meet with academics and PSS staff within the faculty to build relationships and get a better understanding of how they work and what we can do to help them save time, innovate and upskill using the tools available at the uni.

How did you come to work in DL? Have you always worked in this area?

I have some good experience in digital learning as I have held an academic technologist role at the law school and was the learning technologist within Student Opportunities. Working both centrally and in a department gives me a good perspective of how the university works and hopefully help me identify opportunities for us to work together and helping cross-faculty partnerships.

What’s one thing you wish more people knew about the work your team does?

As a new team, I hope people are aware of our existence and get us involved early on in their projects to help consult and advise on how best to use the tools available and to experiment with different technologies to help student experience.

How do you see the future of digital learning evolving, and what excites you most about it?

The future of digital learning is evolving rapidly, driven by advancements in AI, immersive technology, and personalised learning experiences. I personally would like to see more co-creation opportunities with students and staff informing to help each other provide the necessary learning opportunities and skills needed to thrive in the world.

What’s your favourite part of working in Digital Learning, or at Warwick?

I enjoy collaborating with people and this role provides a good opportunity to build relationships with diverse people across my faculty and work towards providing better teaching and learning experiences for academics, students and professional services staff.
