UCAS embargo and (not) sending emails
Every year we pause data flowing from SITS into Azorus due to Scottish Highers and A-Level results, during the official embargo periods. We need to be VERY careful about communicating to prospects in this period so we don't inadvertently give anyone the impression that they have met or not met any exam-related conditions on their offers.
Emails during the embargo period, therefore, need to be kept to an absolute minimum, for this reason, AND without daily updates from SITS, we cannot be sure we have the latest application status, decisions, responses...even names or email addresses.
The 2023 embargo dates are:
Due to SQA results (Scottish Highers) - 6pm Monday 31 July until 9am Tuesday 8 August
Then if we’ve turned back on in the 'middle' period
Due to JCQ results (A-Levels) - 2pm Friday 11 Aug until at 8am Thursday 17 August.
If you have an email you need to get out in this period you or I can contact UG Admissions and request a manual data extract. However, they will be very busy and we can only contact them for extremely urgent comms.
Please note, that this only affects UG applications. The PG data link between SITS and Azorus will remain in place throughout.
Once the data is turned back on it can take 1-2 days to get everything working again so please bear with us.
We take all instructions about sending/ emails using data and turning data on and off from Student Admissions. So please bear in mind that it might take a while to get approval if you request anything in those periods.
