SiteBuilder release notes
SiteBuilder 2.526 released
We released SiteBuilder version 2.526 on Wednesday 7th December 2022. In this version, we:
- Fixed a bug that affected the Tabs component on some Components Editor pages. In cases where these pages had not been edited since the release of version 2.525, only content on the first tab could be accessed.
- Note: Prior to this fix, the issue was resolved on most affected pages by re-publishing them. This may result in IDG staff members' names appearing in the edit history of affected pages, but no content has been altered.
- Solved an issue that caused images to appear the wrong size when editing a page after converting it to the Components Editor.
- Continued to work on the new Bookings page template. When this is available, we'll provide a detailed summary of the changes on the SiteBuilder noticeboard.
SiteBuilder 2.525 released
We released SiteBuilder 2.525 on Thursday the 24th of November. In this version, we:
- Fixed a security issue that affected links where the URL contained a group of 3 slashes (///). For more information about internet safety, see the University guidance on how to combat phishing.
- Fixed a bug that prevented the Email the page contact link working on the Access refused page displayed to visitors without permission to view a given page.
- Added a site setting to make the Components Editor the default when creating a new page. This builds on a previous change which made the Components Editor the default for all new pages created directly beneath an existing Components Editor page. The site setting is available on the Edit site properties screen, via the Current site tab, which appears for users with admin permissions on the site's homepage. When users create a new page, they can choose to create it as a Classic editor page instead.
- Made the following improvements and changes to the Components Editor:
- Fixed a bug that prevented components from displaying properly while editing a custom template created for, or converted to, the Components Editor.
- Added the option to make Tabs components display as Accordions. You can enable this option in the settings for a new or existing Tabs component by selecting Accordion in the Display as drop-down. You can also specify which item (if any) is expanded by default, and whether users can expand multiple items at once.
- Note: This change required existing pages using Tabs components to be re-published. This may result in IDG members' names appearing in the edit history of affected pages, but no content has been altered.
- Improved handling of images when converting pages to the Components Editor. Any images that opened in lightbox on the old visual editor version of a page now continue to do so on the converted version. Note: in the old visual editor, images are set to open in a lightbox via the Insert image as thumbnail option.
- Continued to work on the new Bookings page template. When this is available, we'll provide a detailed summary of the changes on the SiteBuilder noticeboard.
SiteBuilder 2.524 released
We released SiteBuilder 2.524 on Tuesday 15th November 2022. In this version, we:
- Fixed a bug that made controls non-selectable when creating replaceable text for custom page templates.
- Fixed a bug that stopped an alert message from displaying during Components Editor conversion if a user selected Preview & Confirm more than once while the preview window was open.
- Improved behaviour of glossary links. Users are now able to select a definition to be displayed when a given word is selected, instead of having to exactly match an existing glossary term.
- Updated the standard page footer to include a link to the University's Modern Slavery Statement.
- Continued to work on the new Bookings page template. When this is available, we'll provide a detailed summary of the changes on the SiteBuilder noticeboard.
SiteBuilder 2.523 released
We released SiteBuilder 2.523 on Monday 7th November 2022. In this version, we:
- Fixed a bug that produced an error when users attempted to create pages using custom templates.
- Solved an issue that prevented the generation of content reports in some cases.
- Added the Find a webgroup option to the Edit permissions screen for web pages. Select this option to open a pop-up which enables you to select from a list of webgroups you're a member of, or that exist within your department.
- Removed the All viewing option from top-level forum pages, as this could cause loading issues on forums with large numbers of topics. You can still view all posts within individual topics.
- Changed the workflow for converting old visual editor pages to the Components Editor. When you convert a page, you must now complete the process via the preview screen. In the Components Editor, select the Preview & confirm button and then on the preview screen select the Confirm conversion & publish button. This is because it's often clearer on the preview screen when a page is ready for you to finalise the conversion.
- Made the following changes and improvements to the Components Editor:
- Fixed a bug that caused images to display without the correct margins while editing pages.
- Added options to make Block components full-width and/or flush with the top of a page.
- Added support for embedding private Vimeo videos in the Media > Audio/video component.
SiteBuilder 2.522 released

- Fixed a bug that caused unnecessary line breaks when empty <div> tags were placed in Custom HTML components in the Components Editor.
- Solved several issues with keyboard navigation on resource booking pages.
- Added a warning to notify users that existing content will be lost when changing a page template to data list.
