Copy a page or collection

Templates provided to students need to be copied into their personal portfolio. There is a student guide for how to Copy a portfolio template in Mahara

Copy an existing page or collection

This process is also used when copying a page or collection that has been shared using a Secret URL.

  1. Click Create on the dashboard; or click on the main menu icon, expand the Create section, and select Page and Collections.
  2. Click on the title of the page or collection to be copied
  3. Click on the (3 horizontal dots) menu on the top right
  4. Select Copy
  5. Page - give the new page a title, and update the description and tags as necessary. Click Save to return to Page and Collections and the process is complete.
  6. Collection - This gives the option to copy a page (as 5), or the whole collection.
  7. When the process complete, rename the copy, update the description and Tags before saving. If it is just a single page, the process is now complete. If it is a collection, continue to the next step.
  8. Click 'Next: Edit collection pages' add or remove pages as required, then click Done'.
  9. The collection copy will now appear in Mahara under your ‘Pages and Collections’ section.

Copy a shared page or collection

This method is used when a page or collection has been shared with you via the Share process (not via a Secret URL).

  1. Click Create on the dashboard; or click on the main menu icon, expand the Create section, and select Page and Collections.
  2. Click Copy at the top of the page.
  3. Type the name of the template into the search box and click Search. This will return a list of matching items.
  4. Click 'Copy page' or 'Copy collection' (if the template contains more than one page). The message 'Processing' will appear whilst the template is copying into your account.
  5. When the process complete, rename the copy, update the description and Tags before saving. If it is just a single page, the process is now complete. If it is a collection, continue to the next step.
  6. Click 'Next: Edit collection pages' at the bottom of the page, add or remove pages as required, then click 'Done'.
  7. The updated copy will now appear under the ‘Pages and Collections’ section.
